Established in 1994, Sensory Integration Education (SIE) has over three decades of experience training and supporting sensory integration practitioners. Our early core training events on ASI theory and practice evolved into university-accredited postgraduate modules with Cardiff University in 2000 and, eventually, the world’s first MSc in Sensory Integration in partnership with Ulster University in 2011.
ASI Wise was set up in 2017 and offers the CLASI Certification in Ayres Sensory Integration, working with Ulster University since, we understand, 2021 to provide accredited postgraduate qualifications.
Today, SIE continues to lead the way in university-accredited postgraduate education in sensory integration, now in partnership with the award-winning Sheffield Hallam University.
Over 2,000 SI Practitioners have qualified with SIE, and we've helped over 80,000 people learn about sensory needs over the last three decades.
With SIE, all our Sensory Integration practitioner training is university-accredited, with our students able to enjoy the support, benefits and facilities of being a Sheffield Hallam University student from enrollment onwards.

SIE’s curriculum was designed by highly experienced educators and advanced SI practitioner clinicians, working together with international SI experts to provide student learning that is both clinically-focused and academically rigorous.
Within the NHS Health Education England, the Advanced Clinical Practice Framework describes advanced clinical practice as:
“practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making… underpinned by a master’s level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area-specific clinical competence. Advanced clinical practice embodies the ability to manage clinical care in partnership with individuals, families and carers. It includes the analysis and synthesis of complex problems across a range of settings, enabling innovative solutions to enhance people’s experience and improve outcomes.”
SIE’s training has been designed to enable students to develop advanced clinical skills in sensory integration therapy and the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research are foundational to our programme.
SIE is a trusted training provider to the NHS: over 120 NHS, HCNI and HSE Trusts have purchased SIE’s accredited postgraduate training and short CPD courses.
SIE was chosen to host and manage the National Sensory Network: the outcome of an NHS-funded project to share sensory projects and best practices.
SIE has been identified and listed in the recent Advanced Clinical Practice: Capabilities Framework When Working With People Who Have a Learning Disability And/Or Autism (2020) alongside other highly reputable organisations.

All SIE postgraduate students have immediate access to Sheffield Hallam University's Disabled Student Support service, which assists students with physical and mental health conditions, sensory impairments, neurodiversity, and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Support includes tailored adjustments, assistive technology, and specialist mentoring. Importantly, a formal diagnosis is not always required to access support. Find out more here.
In contrast, ASI Wise students must be on their Ulster University pathway to access equivalent services.
