Support for Disabled Students and Students with Additional Needs

Supporting Postgraduate Students

As a Sensory Integration Education postgraduate student, you have access to comprehensive support services through our higher education partner, Sheffield Hallam University. This includes the dedicated Disabled Student Support service, designed to assist anyone who may need additional support due to a disability or long-term health condition.

This encompasses physical and mental health conditions, sensory impairments, neurodiversity, and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Importantly, a formal diagnosis is not always necessary to access these services.

Disabled Student Support Services

Sheffield Hallam’s Disability Advisers are available to address all types of disability-related inquiries and arrange the necessary support for your studies. For example, you may benefit from a Learning Contract, which outlines reasonable adjustments to ensure you are not disadvantaged by your condition or disability. This contract provides relevant staff with the information they need to support you effectively.

Reasonable adjustments based on your needs may include:

  • Extended deadlines for coursework and assignments
  • Adjustments to presentations or group work
  • Coursework not marked down for spelling and grammar errors
